Meet Alyssa – Owner & Trainer at A&V Dog Training

A lifelong Oregonian, Alyssa’s passion for dogs began early—long before she worked with real animals, she was running a pretend vet hospital with her many beloved stuffed animals. Growing up in Lake Oswego, her first hands-on experience came in high school when she worked as an attendant at a small, family-owned doggy daycare.

After graduation, Alyssa continued to deepen her experience in animal care, working at various doggy daycares, becoming a veterinary assistant, and eventually finding her true calling in dog training. Under the mentorship of Heather Wood, a seasoned trainer with over a decade of experience, Alyssa honed her skills and developed her unique, compassionate training approach.

In 2020, Alyssa founded A&V Dog Training. Having explored many paths within the pet care world, she discovered that her greatest joy comes from helping dogs thrive and supporting families in building strong, lasting connections with their pets.

Today, Alyssa is a proud mom of two wonderful children, a devoted wife, and the lucky pet parent to three dogs. The Aussie you’ll see featured throughout the website is Violet—her heart dog, her inspiration, and the furry soul who sparked her dedication to helping others build meaningful bonds with their own dogs.
